On August 11, 2021, WP Global Partners announced the sale of its remaining position in Bright Farms as part of a negotiated buyout transaction with majority shareholder, Cox Enterprises.
Bright Farms is a premier indoor farming company growing fresh and salad greens supplied locally to national supermarkets including Walmart, Kroger, and Ahold. Bright Farms has high tech computer-controlled hydroponic greenhouses in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Virginia and North Carolina.
WP Global invested in Bright Farms in June 2014 as part of an agriculture and food production strategy. WP Global held board positions and was a significant equity owner in the Company until 2020 when new growth capital was raised from Catalyst and Cox Enterprises.
